Note that this rework changes the current behavior: if VLC is in the background, the keys still control it, however if you start another key user (such as iTunes, QTP, etc.), it won't interfere and control the other app. That's why macosx-mediakeys-background was removed.

The Objective-C runtime will properly unload this at the end of the application. The mozilla plugin should not even be using this at all.

This was even worse. +load() != init()
This reverts commit b5feb899.

This fixes the NSScreen crash, which could be accurately reproduced by following the steps in #2880.

macosx: get rid of the infamous 'get' prefixes everywhere and finally respect Cocoa's naming scheme here

quartztext, controlling playback with the Apple Remote and embedded AGL vouts (aka safari/mozilla plugin vouts) are not supported by now. Quartztext and AGL vout will need a complete rewrite.

The OS X interface no longer depends on the QuickTime framework.

macosx: updated window styles for VLCControllerWindow and VLCEmbeddedWindow based upon a patch by Georg Seifert

Some tweaks to the nib file (so VLCControllerWindow looks all textured again) will be submitted later on.

macosx: updated used Cocoa methods to the current definitions and fixed a few logic errors, which only occur in 64 bit mode

macosx: Use input_ItemHasErrorWhenReading to display a small icon if there was an error when reading. This allow us not to display the message panel each time we have an error when reading.

Regarding the new look, feel free to improve.

* fixed a bug which prevented the fspanel to show up in some circumstances. Patch by Pierre d'Herbemont pdherbemont --at,- free.fr. This commit priortises Cocoa hotkeys instead of VLC's natives which is a good idea IMO.

* Patch from Basil Achermann to handle esc and space keyboard events in VLCControl when the controller is active
* It seems that corrects a bug when the controller was the acrtive window in fullscreen (that shouldn't happen, but well...)
* Best thing to do would be to handle the keypresses from the vout here too, I guess...

* finally use the iTunes volumeslider knob that we have had since 0.7.0 but which I never cared to enable. closes #209
